Protective Kavachas

All Hindu deities represent cosmic energies that are part of the Divine Universal Energy or the Supreme God-head. Shiva represents the Male Cosmic energy principle of our form-created world and Parvati (who is another representation of Shakti), is the Female Cosmic energy principle.  Both these primal Male and Female cosmic energy principles are responsible for creating our form world.

Protective Kavachas are special prayers which work as a shield (kavacha) against harmful and detrimental energies. In addition, chanting such Kavachas and contemplating on them with devotion also allows one to benefit from the Governing Energy/Deity of that Kavacha.

For e.g. if one was to chant a Surya Kavacha, then in addition to being protected against any malefic aspects of Surya (Sun) placement in their natal chart, the person would also benefit from positive energies and blessings from the Sun energy.

Here we present prayer app-tools to understand the significance and pray to these profoundly beneficial cosmic energies. You can use the favorites feature to mark the parts you are studying or contemplating and then use the Notes feature to write down any guidance, insight or directives you receive. Then using standard iOS features such as copy-paste, text and email; you can share your insights with others.

Navagraha Kavacham

According to Vedic Astrology, when one has malefic planets in one’s natal or transit astrological charts, then it is best to conduct specific remedial measures to protect oneself from any harm. In addition, certain planets are considered malefic by nature and chanting kavacham (shield) for them is considered a great way to protect oneself from their negative influences.

Navagraha Kavacham presents the kavacha (shield) for each of the nine planets. The app also presents the Navagraha Dhyana Shloka. Chanting this navagraha shloka helps one to attain blessings of all the nine planets.
